My name is Adam Shaw. I’m a developer and software company founder living in Brooklyn, New York. I’m the creator of the popular FullCalendar project, an open source JavaScript UI toolkit for event-scheduling software. I successfully monetized the project in 2016 and now work on the business full-time.
Being a solopreneur has given me the time and flexibility to do the things I’ve always wanted to do. I’ve travelled to and worked from over 35 different countries. I immensely enjoy learning Spanish and have become addicted to a beautiful dance called Kizomba (example).
Prior, I was the second engineering hire at Weebly, a website publishing company that was acquired by Square in 2018. While working at Weebly, I eventually became Director of Engineering. I managed the Design Engineering team as well as the team responsible for the core website-building product.
In 2008, I cofounded Orgu, a collaborative web publishing platform. The company was later funded by Y Combinator and participated in the Summer Founders Program.
I attended Northwestern University where I received a B.S. in both Computer Science and Film. While at the university, I researched Natural Language Processing and Interaction Design with the Northwestern Infolab.
